Counselling for real life.

People usually come to counselling because something important has become difficult or hasn't resolved itself. You don't need to arrive knowing exactly why it's happening or what needs to change. We can start with the problem as you understand it and work from there.

What might bring you to counselling?

Relationships

Communication, disconnection, recurring conflict, boundaries, separation or difficult decisions about a relationship.

Parenting & Family

When you love your family enormously but are exhausted, worried, angry, conflicted or unsure what a reasonable response looks like.

Anxiety & Overthinking

When your mind keeps returning to the same worries, possibilities or decisions and thinking harder isn't resolving them.

Burnout & Capacity

When you're managing a lot, possibly successfully, but the effort required to keep everything going is becoming difficult to sustain.

Midlife & Identity

Changing relationships, children growing up, ageing parents, work, identity and questions about what you want from the next part of life.

Autism & ADHD

Understanding yourself, relationships and everyday difficulties in the context of neurodivergence — particularly the gap between appearing capable and actually coping.

What counselling with me is like

We start with what's actually happening in your life rather than trying to fit you into a predetermined model. Sometimes that means slowing things down and understanding what you're feeling. Sometimes it means looking at a relationship, a pattern, an assumption or a decision differently. And sometimes the useful question is simply: what do you do next?

I'm practical, but that doesn't mean rushing past the emotional part. The aim is to understand the problem well enough that our conversations make a difference outside the counselling session.

Scope of practice

I provide counselling and coaching, and I'm also an AHPRA-registered occupational therapist. I don't provide medical diagnosis, prescribe medication or replace care from a GP, psychiatrist or other medical practitioner. Where something sits outside my scope, I'll be clear about it.
